Clement & Wynn is currently providing scheduling
and construction coordination services for this fast-tracked
$4.3 million renovation of Georgia Tech’s Frank
K. Houston Building. We also collaborated with the architects,
Lyman Davis & Dooley, to procure the services of
a construction management firm.
The Houston Building was originally constructed in
1971 as the campus bookstore, a one-story, steel frame
structure covered in brick veneer. In 1985, the Houston
Mall Addition added a second story complete with a clerestory
atrium and skylight.
In 2003, the bookstore was relocated and the building
was scheduled for interior renovation to create a multi-purpose
student commons area with expanded meeting, retail and
restaurant spaces.
The building renovation is scheduled for final completion
in March of 2004.
Clement & Wynn worked collaboratively with the
Auxiliary Services and Facilities Management Department
at Georgia Tech and the project architects to keep this
fast-paced renovation project on schedule.
